Linocut illustration from Sally’s tale The Birds - A Fairy Tale. Hand printed as an edition of 20 on a variety of Japanese printmaking papers. The Birds is a fairy tale about a small migratory seabird who attends to the terrestrial needs of a human child. Rich with philosophical and spiritual imagery, the tale draws on humanity’s relationship with the mysterious and the longing for transformation. The Birds - A Fairy Tale was published in May 2023.

The linocut illustration is packaged in a biodegradable cellulose sleeve backed with recycled boxboard. All prints are signed and numbered by Sally. The following paper descriptions below, along with the last photo of this listing, are to help you choose your paper of choice. Availability is limited to only small numbers of each paper.

Edition of 20. Actual print size is 11cm x 4cm. Please note the size of the paper varies between each print of this linocut and may not be the size of the papers in the photos.

Bunkoshi - a richly warm and natural coloured paper with slightly textured surface, 70 gsm

Okawara - a crisp and smooth paper, ivory in colour, 51 gsm

Kozo - an especially feathered-edge paper, smooth and thin, with natural fibres visible to the eye, ivory in colour, 46 gsm

Hosho Hik- a clean white coloured paper, soft and strong
